How bout LGA? We opened as a base to fly to MDT and LEB. All lines were meant to be multi-day trips. April's lines, of which there are now only 5 down from the 9 we started with, include a grand total of 4 overnights. We stopped flying to MDT at all in December. This month we only even go to LEB once a day afer the first couple days of the month. Nothing but day trips now. What the hell is with that crap? And we're the "hub," yet SYR still has around 13 lines with lots of flight and pay credit. Total BS...

Don't forget the fact that they closed LEB as a Beech base three months after I moved there to have the Saab fly the route...next month, both the ALB and BOS Beeches are overnighting (a lot of days a week) in LEB. Good planning.

I may be wrong, but I don't think we are flying to MDT at all anymore in April. Anyway, theses lines are miserable, just miserable.

Didn't take that long to start singing a different tune eh? What about being home everynight?

Welcome to reality :).

Seggy- while I knew that someone would say something...

It's not about what's best for me... It's about whats best for this pilot group and airline.

The city of MDT begged Colgan to come back and the Saab loads are pitiful.

We flew it empty yesterday. Normal loads 2-3 pax.

Ithaca is sporadic.

At-Risk flying just doesnt work for regionals. Espcially when Colgan charges $750 to fly on a Saab rountrip to LGA.

Get home at 1815. Just in time to go to bed!

14 hours away from home to get 5hr of credit.

The thing that kills me is, the amount of flying hasn't changed. They're giving it to other bases. Just close the damn base and stop ruining lives. Who is building these lines?!?!?!

Man you guys need a duty rig. A day like that at ASA would credit 8 hrs.

So do you think these EAS routes are going away or staying?

Honestly- I think all the US Airways flying will be gone by June 09. It makes no money and is a large reason this company lost $6 million last quarter.

The crews will be all shifted to the Q400 or if they dont want to move, they will risk furlough.

Just my opinion.

People forget that we DO NOT have a contract with US Airways. We did not bid for Airways flying. We do it at-risk. If we stopped serving a city, Airways wouldn't care and they certainly wouldn't replace it. Remember when Colgan used to fly BUF-LGA and ROC-LGA and PWM-LGA? Airways took those away because Colgan was making too much money on it. Now they're AWAC/PDT routes. And people say Colgan steals flying...haha.

US Airways flying is a guaranteed money loser for Colgan. I always try to non-rev family members on Colgan because I know there'll be a seat open. Sad huh?
