That is only one measure. The guy is obviously not only new to the X but also new to flying. Note he keeps BOTH hands on the yoke and does not fly with his fingertips but rather GRIPS the yoke. Newbie...

I hate to say this....but the AP is NOT on. The FG panel is in the center of the glareshield with 4 vertical buttons. The top one is the AP button, and is not engaged.

However. He is flying from the right seat but the Left Pilot FD is selected on the FGC. He is also in HDG/ALT mode.

I did not. But regardless, the guy looks lost and autopilot engaged or not engaged, two hands on the yoke in cruise does not speak highly of his skills.

I didn't realize there were 4 buttons up there. I looked around a X for a few minutes once and I just remember that's where that button was.
