Looks like a pretty hard hit to launch it back I to the air like that. Article says 1 minor injury and the other two people weren't injured at all.

(edit - I can't see the video here on my iPad but it looks like the forum automatically put media tags on th liveleak link and it looks right so I will assume it works for you)

I'll say that I'm impressed that the fuselage stayed intact after that! They must have severely screwed up that approach to still be going that fast on an over-run.

:aghast:

Holy spinal compression, batman. That was one helluva launch. How does one botch a landing THAT badly? Based on how fast he launched over that berm, it seems like he would still have been going fast enough in the last 1000' of runway that he could have firewalled it and nursed it back into the air again.

I'm pretty shocked at the injuries. You'd think there would be a few seriously messed up spinal cords, at the very least.

That's exaclty what I was thinking!! Only three people on board, might not have weighed too much,,

The reporter did say they were using Congonhas's smaller runway. Just looking it up on Wiki shows it at 4,700ft. Even in a Citation that doesn't leave a ton of room for error.

We put a 560 down in KXSA, 4300 ft, on a regular basis. It's still not too bad as long as you are stable and on speed. Fast, heavy, and light head wind makes it interesting though.
