Chicago-Area CFI Jobs

DPA and Illinois Aviation Academy might be your best bet...DPApilot might have some helpful info there. DPA also has American Flyers, ATP, and Travel Express. http://illinoisaviation.com/ http://americanflyers.net/ http://travelexpressaviation.com/

ARR has Lumanair and JA Air Center http://www.lumanair.com/ http://jaair.com/

1C5 (Clow) is in Bolingbrook, that's a really small FBO and school though, I'm sure you'd have to know someone to get in there. http://www.aandmaviation.com/

LOT - http://www.chicagolandaviation.com/ http://www.cpflighttraining.com/

Do you happen to know the kind of volume that any of the above schools do? I'm just wondering if I would be able to fly enough to make ends meet, or, after completing AF's course, would I have to go to FL, AZ, CA, etc., to build hours.

Honestly no clue...Though I've been trying to schedule my spin endorsement at Lumanair and having a hell of a time getting on their books.

Sorry to hear that you're having such a tough time! However, I suppose it's a good thing that they're so busy.

Yeah, you'd think DuPage FSDO would let at least one of us pass on the first roll ;)

You're dreaming!
I split my training into two academies & did it backward (CFIA first then came back for the CFII)
Every person from both academies I was in failed several times, I took my endorsements & went home and used my local FSDO passed both first time

DPA FSDO and AF have a rocky history.
I watched a girl come back crying "he failed her because she couldn't tell him off the top of her head what the requirements are to go from CFII airplane to CFII rotorcraft"

Yeah, considering scheduling, I'll be doing the ride back in GRR. I was shocked today when they actually answered the phone. First time in seven attempts! Maybe things are getting better and we don't have to call DTW to get GRR to return a call. :)

I got lucky and was able to go to Willow Run, I live on the line.

I just signed up today, so I'll be joining you guys in the class on the 22nd. I just need to finish CSEL and get that spin endorsement. I guess that I'll have to come back and do my ride with the DC FSDO, though.
