Cheapest place for a 1900D type?

Another question with FSI, what's the biggest difference between initial and upgrade/renewal training? Any restriction going the upgrade route because I have tons of time in King Airs and a bit of time in a 1900 and it's all basically the same. If I can I'd go the "upgrade" route.

When I was up doin the sim at FSI in LGA a couple of years ago for another airline, I was told that there were only 2 strictly 1900 full motion sims in the country. I don't recall where the other one was.

Flight Safety's 1900 sims that I know of are in Toronto and Orlando, FL. I think they have a class C 1900 sim in NYC.

Edit: Oh, theres one in Wichita too.

I know FSI is not just only airlines on their 1900 sims because they do 135 too. I dunno about 91 but it would be crazy not to take someone's money -- its not like the sims are running full tilt, I don't believe.

There is a level C 1900 sim in Greeley, CO at Aims Community College (I think that's the name) and there's one in Centennial, CO on S. Revere Parkway close to the airport. I can't remember the name of the facility even though that's where I did all my sim stuff for Lakes just a couple months ago. Guess the name of the place I was at was the least of my worries at the time. sorry I couldn't be more help but maybe that's something to go off of.

Yep that's who I'm going with, AIMS. Talked to Chris the DO and he's a great guy. Looks like the package is 10k for everything including housing and transportation. This is the price if you go in alone. The next cheapest was FTI in Denver that wanted 10k just for the type and if you were to go in alone it would be 14k. If anyone wants details let me know.

Anyone have any info on FTI Denver? I'm looking at beginning of julyish.

I used FTI in DEN for my 737 type & ATP ride and it was $4995. I don't know about the 1900. I know with FTI it was a bare bones program and you needed to know all your stuff before coming. I did the short course. It required 80-120 hours of home study prior.

Also FTI has some communications problems when I was there. I was given materials late and the seemed a little disorganized at times.

However, the UAL instructors were first class and gave great instruction and tips in the SIM.

Good Luck
