Cessna to Outsource Jet Manufacturing to China

What I call the Hawker 4000, because it was always a day late, dollar short and generally left a bunch of promises unfulfilled. Also a typo.

Haha. That's a good cover :p

But seriously, if it was an aircraft developed on a "normal" timeline, and appropriately equipped within it's decade (avionics), it would be a phenomenal aircraft. But...it's not. I ran into a 4000 driver at PNE one day; their 4000 was in the shop for the fuel tank mod. HBC was providing supplemental lift in the form of a "leased" 900XP, free of charge, while the work was being done. The owner paid fuel and engine MSP (warranty program) only. In addition, they were upgrading to the latest avionics software version for free. For our Challenger, doing a similar upgrade would be upwards of $50,000.

If that's being done for the entire fleet (or those that didn't already comply with the new fuel tank regs), that's a HUGE chunk of change.
