Cessna P210

The do use regular 210's quite a bit in Namibia. Dirt(mud)/gravel/grass. 206/207/208 are by far the most popular.

Most of the strips in Namibia are as hard as paved runways.

MAF uses them on grass strips, but honestly I would look how much landing gear parts costs, I'm sure they are not cheap.

We landed a 210 on a mud strip ones in Guatemala, it was almost impossible to taxi the thing around due to the small tires.

That'd be awesome, but the 7 hrs of flying I did in the islander, as opposed to the 70hrs of wrenching I did on the thing taught me one thing. There is not enough holding the tail on that thing. Go too fast through too bumpy weather and you'll be a high lift lawn dart. Sure the turbines would give you practically VTOL performance, but after you got off the ground you'd have to pull em' back to flight idle just to keep under Vne.
