Celebrity Pilots

Speaking of celebrities, the captain I'm flying with this month is actually fairly good friends with Elizabeth Hurley. Apparently, she went to school with his sister and they'd always hang out. There was an age difference so she's more like a little sister to the guy rather than anything else.

A few funny stories about coming home after a night out with the boys and literally tripping over E. Hurley and thinking nothing of it!

Has anyone mention the Ultimate Party Goer????

Jimmy Buffett.

I believe he owns or at least flies a Grumman Mallard or Widgedon, Caravan and a Stearman or Waco. He Departed before me in Key West in his Caravan on day, it was great listen in while he talked with tower, Very professional sounding. I almost starting singing "cheeseburger in paradise" over the comm, just to see if he would sing along.

Hugh Hefner was a barnstormer back in the day.

Do you have any link where I could confirm this? I haven't found anything in his past relating to him as being a pilot. He's born in 1920's, by the time he was 18 or so, the war II broke out and he joined the army as a cartoon writer.

Holy necropost indeed! This thread's TWO years old!

If there's something you want addressed from such an old thread, start a new one and reference the old thread if you want to.
