I've only done 2 "highspeed overnights"....and i've taken my bag with me.
Sometimes we have a bunch of airplanes by each other...and it can be a crapshoot if we get the same one in the morning.....even if a ramp agent is pretty sure we should keep it or not.
And i've heard alot of stories where bags in general have gone missing.

We made a habit of leaving all our stuff setup in the plane. We new the ramp crew, it was no problem. TSA said it was a nono, but then again, they were expressly prohibited from entering the airplane or flight deck when it was unattended, so they couldn't do anything about it anyway.
