Carrying in your car at the academy.

So no type of self defense mechanism at all can be kept in your car? Mace? Pepper spray?
2-10. Firearms, Weapons, and Explosives. Per Title 18, United States Code, Section 930, “No person entering or while on federal property shall carry or possess firearms or other dangerous or deadly weapons. ..."

So no.

why would anybody need a firearm in the first place to go to work? i mean do it but if you get caught you're finished. good luck getting another federal job. i'm sure those of you at the academy have been told the story about the guy that had a bullet or shell or something in his car or pocket i dont remember, and he got canned.

The "whole story" isn't that this fellow was fired for what he said, but it indicates the extremes to which the government will go. Remember too, that this fellow was not in his probationary year, which is the easiest time to be fired from a federal government job.

When the government tells it's employees they have a "zero tolerance" for something, the reality is they are more like a "minus five" tolerance.

Why does anyone need a firearm anywhere? Protection. Criminals don't obey the laws when it comes to where you can carry firearms. All gun free zones are is an invitation to criminals saying "there will be no law abiding citizens trying to protect themselves here".

But no, my job is not worth it.

Sadly, that is the case. I guess the assumption is that if someone has a gun in their car, if they get upset at someone, they'll run out to get it, and then shoot up the place. Even though the statistics show that overwhelmingly that those with carry permits almost never use their weapon (like, 99% of the time) in commission of a felony.

Why use logic and reason when you can act on pure emotion? :banghead:

But I agree, it isn't worth my job. I'll just continue to openly criticize the anti-gun idiots who can't figure out restricting the rights of law abiding citizens doesn't do a damn thing to deter crime.

You won't have to worry about where you can carry your gun pretty soon anyway. Obama will be knocking on your door to take it. They are already trying to pass a law that will allow inspection of your home to "make sure that your registered weapons are being stored properly". We all know that is just a pre-cursor to confiscation anyway.

If you carry and it is found on government property, you will be fired, fined, and put in prison... It isn't worth it at all...

everyone start building your panic rooms for you guns!

It's clear through this discussion that it's totally prohibited on gov't property. But someone who enjoys their constitutional right to bear arms (outside of work) is hardly paranoid or delusional as your snide comment implies.

And after a few weeks in Memphis let's see if you don't want to start carrying.:buck:

Can't bring weapons to your facility either. We have armed guards at CLT.. if they search your vehicle and find a gun you're going to have a serious problem.

What's the HR Bill #? I want to see your sources.

I think it is HR45, but in reality I am only repeating what I have heard. Do you deny that his goal is to strip us of our rights one by one, including but not limited to, the right to bear arms?

Thanks letting us know about that. I have to admit it is the first I have heard of it. It is absolutely amazing how radical the extremists have become now that they are in the majority.
