Hello,
I have been using the search and found some useful topics on this subject, but none of them were very recent.
I am wondering what the best route to get my PPL would be. At face value it seems Grey Eagle would be the cheapest option, but is that really so, and is it worth it? Does Mel still own it? I had also looked at Pacific Coast Flyers club thinking it would be a cheaper route then going to an aviation school but that doesnt seem to be the case, espcially after club fees. Plus One Flyers seems like a popular club but they dont have many plans at Palomar it looks like.
Are there any hidden fees if I went through an aviation school? When I spoke to the guy at Pacific Coast Flyers he mentioned club fees and that I should get insurance. Is it typical to get additional insurance if I fly through a school or a club?
If anyone has any experience training in the Carlsbad area please tell me your story.
Thanks!
