My anger level would be beyond RED. That sucks big time.

One positive note is that you did record the serial number. That is a precaution we should all take and few of us do.

The cop was actually shocked that I had it. He said he was pretty sure that was a first for him to have that kind of info on a stolen item like that. My saturday project is now going through all the serial numbers I have, backing them up, and checking to see what things I have that I have not recorded.

That and look into surveillance cameras.

my wife and kids are fine, full eviscerating rage is reserved for somebody messing with them.

Eviscerate. Good word.

As far as stealing goes, it really irritates the heck out of me. I keep anything expensive in the trunk. What people can't see they generally don't go after.

My first CFI would never leave a headset in a plane. I thought he looked like a tool carrying it around everywhere.

Maybe someone should start selling headset bags that can be securely locked to an airplane.

Sorry to hear that though. Bummer

sorry to hear that....seems to me like a simple hand gun cable lock would work in securing a headset to a seat rail or other permanent structure..

My car was also broken into in 02, lost a 'lunchbag' with headsets and logbook, too.
Next morning I went to the closest pawnshop and just missed the thieving ( I can't say it here) who'd tried to sell my stuff. I asked to see the video tape, but the manager refused. When the detective arrived ( nearly 4 days later) she said it was on an undated tape somewhere in this stack of 20 tapes..
I figured she'd was protecting the thief- her regular client.
Fortunately, at that time, my logbook wasn't too hard to recreate. That would be the real loss now. I have a headset you can have if you'll PM me.
