Still need to go through the FSDO to get a LOA, and the feds need to wave their magic wand or you can't get the plate from Jep.
What sort of "special" approaches? Do you have an example?
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Skagway, Alaska. Or anywhere the floatplanes go...I think it would be frustrating trying to operate out of an airport without access to an instrument approach, unless the weather there is always good.
Correct.....I assume that these LOAs include a range of circumstances, some of which include carrier's agreement for special training.
I have, and it's a PITA to suffer the Gub'ment approval/authorization process. There are no special controller issues that I'm aware, the points are identified on the screens for approach controllers.Has anybody ever requested one of these proprietary approaches? Is there any controller discretion at play?
I meant, has anybody requested the "Alaska Airlines" approach?Correct.....
