Call me old fashioned...

Good to see you lived to tell about it. ;) :sarcasm:..... kinda

Cabin crew announcements and Instructions in Russian and French only. I suck at French but knew enough Russian to get through it.

We did go missed at CDG at about 200ft AGL. never heard the gear come down before it, or go up during the missed, but heard it loud on the second try.....Methinks I know why we went missed the first time.

All over an interesting flight, only slightly less interesting than 2 hours on this thing...

Yep. SIP to KPB. Don't let the shiny paint fool ya. Full of lap patches everywhere. Inboard mains are thread showing, outboards have some tread. Pilots were using the bagage area (betweeen cockpit and Economy seating) as their private smoking lounge :)

Unfortunately, not the case.....coincidentally speaking that you happened to bring up midairs specifically. Granted, it was their older scheme, and maybe its one reason they went to the banana.

Older scheme? I was under the impression that after the merger that created Hughes Airwest, the initial and final livery was yellow. I know the previous Air West had white fuselages and different colored tails.

Werent they bought by Republic?

I loved this livery, only if they could've had any consistency across paint jobs. The tail always seemed to be slightly different and they white/silver color was always different.

It was Hughes Air West in 1970, and the new scheme didn't come out until late 1971, with the the Air west scheme being kept until then, from what I understand.
