Breastfeeding F9 Pilots Want Privacy at Work

I tossed that out there because there appeared to me to be some confusion about paternal eligibility for FMLA. (I may be wrong and there was no confusion.) Not making any comments or opinions about it, just making sure future dads know that as it stands right now dads do qualify for FMLA. If there was no confusion, ignore my post and have a great day.

The fairness of those who get parental leave vs. those that do not is an age old question. I wouldn't say that taking care of a newborn after giving birth fits in the vacation category that so many assume that it does who feel the benefit isn't fair. I am sure that if you really would like that time off to be in the same shoes as a new parent, many would take you up on that offer. It isn't a vacation.

I clicked on this thread to see boobs.

I've been thoroughly disappointed.

Check out this pair!

WOOOT! BOOBIES!

As an FYI, men are eligible for FMLA for birth of a child. Bill used like 4 weeks FMLA for each of the kids when they were born.

I don't know what BFing FAs do. I don't remember in 7 years actually noticing.. but then again this was before-kids for me so it wasn't really something I was seeking out or actively researching.

When you said BFing FAs I though you were being super condescending and then I remembered this thread was about breastfeeding.

All of them are either asking for them or stating them as a reason for what are asking for. I would quote them, but my internet is currently down (power outage).

Due to my close proximity to the company and the individuals involved, I plan to keep my involvment in this discussion at arms-length. I am curious to know what accomodations other airlines provide compared to F9.

9 points of relief are being asked for, none are paid leave.

It is most certainly NOT a "vacation". Not in any way, shape or form.

True, but as I said, the lack of paid leave is clearly stated as a reason for what they are asking for:

"24. As Frontier failed to offer either PAID maternity leave or job reassignment for pregnant pilots, and I had been required to take unpaid leave at the end of both of my pregnancies, I suffered financial harm from my resulting loss of income."

"48. Frontier’s policies and practices related to pregnancy and breastfeeding
specifically, the policy of forcing pilots to take mandatory unpaid leave during
pregnancy, the limitation to 120 days of unpaid maternity leave, the lack of any paid leave, the ineligibility of breastfeeding..."

So if that horse is dead enough, anyone care to share what other airlines offer?

Heck no. After a week with our second son I thought about telling my wife that I was going back to work...but burning a day of pto and sleeping in my office. I didn't because I feared her wrath given that she was the hateful little child's only source of food and comfort.

My wife averaged 30-40 minutes per pumping session.... that's once everything was set up. Not every woman is the same. Not even the same woman for each pregnancy, birth, or child. That doesn't even begin to include storage, cleanup, etc.... Hardly conducive to "our" job duties. I love my wife, I love the sacrifices she made for our family, I love the role Mothers play but somewhere sacrifices must be made. Companies are already forced to sacrifice greatly. Having a child is a personal/family decision....why or how long should a company be forced to pay for that? Some Mothers nurse for a few months.....some for 2 years or longer, some not at all. Some have flexibility in their jobs and some like us don't.

That being said... The Mrs. is in commercial real estate. She has a boss and a big corporate office but makes her own hours, travel schedule, works from home when she wants, and as long as she meets her quota no questions are asked. Her job requirements and ours are in no way the same.
