Boeing Lounge Boeing 737 LRD

Don’t forget, we ordered the 767-400’s with zero ETOPS equipment. It was for LGA/MCO/etc. Boeing offered us 777’s at cheaper rates to not build the -400, but we wanted it and it had to fit into LGA.

Only after did we decide “oh we should put them to better use” and added ETOPS, at great expense
The stuff that they had to do to that airplane to make it fit into LGA is the subject of quite a few bastardizations and FAR exemptions.

"Computer, give me a sorted list of all 737 MAX models":

737-10MAX10
737-8MAX8
737-9MAX9

"d'oh!"

Boeing amatuer hour that merges into other teletype-originated perversions like "37G", "37H", "37J" and "37Y" because "I" and "X" are already other special letters in other ways.

And here we have our own internal designations…737-900ER’s that came from LionAir…

J/R/S’s…in their bastard configurations

What's an S? I know the J and R, though I can't keep them apart, but didn't know we had an S too. Then again, if they're condemned to ATL that would explain it, I'm doing quite well at avoiding trips that touch Mecca, though I do have one in May, it's got too long of legs for one of the Lion Air birds, thankfully.

I’ve had a gin or 3, and haven’t charged my company iPad…but I could have sworn we had S thrown in their too…for the slighty reconfigured ones…*sigh*, I’ll go charge and brb

I know there was a mod plan afoot to squeeze one extra row of Comfort+ out of the 900s, taking the standard configuration from 21 to 27, that could be it, though I think that's finished. Haven't been keeping up with the fleet modification updates for a while.

That could have been it…I get info from the newsletter group, so I was probably misremembering something 🤦🏼‍♂️

It's possible that it passed through the fleet newsletter at some point but the new formatting on that thing drives me nuts so I've cutback on reading it the last few months and haven't been keeping up with stuff myself.

We’re trying to make it better (I do photography for it…one of my shots was the cover photo couple months ago)!

I need to cobble the notes I've taken and send them off to the newsletter team. The biggest problem for me is the smaller font on the graphic background is difficult to read, especially when aerodocs is in night mode. I've got other gripes but it's all formatting and graphics related.

What are we talking about? Aren’t all our 9s a total of 178 seats?

Lion Air ones have 200+ seats?

Or are you guys telling cabin configurations as they appear in FLY?

Delta buys 737-900’s from LionAir.

LionAir had them configured for 214 seats, all Econ. Extra FA Jumpseat’s (our commuting FAs love them)

Delta bought 33 of them, but they’re not in our standard 180 seat config. They’re kinda hodgepodge…diff FC seats, no power, some with IFE/most without. They wear a J or R designation in our fleet guide (73J/73R).

They’re being brought up to standard DL config.

Till then, they only fly within XXX number miles of ATL.

And they still smell like fish.

The production value of that fleet newsletter is impressive, if nothing else. (I actually rather like it.)

How’d the oil refinery work out? 😆

Boeing is pulling out all the stops to get more than just the MAX10 on property here.
