Big U.S. Airlines Fault Persian Gulf Carriers

Whatever Dale.

I was called a 'goon' in another thread yet nothing was done even though I was keeping a pretty level head about the topic. If I called another member a 'goon' what would you do to me? Seriously. Tell me. Then tell me why nothing was done when I was called that?

Also, put simply, what these Middle East Carriers are doing isn't nice. It can ruin a lot of careers and dreams of many members on here. So if passions run high, oh well. You guys need to realize that and stop being in this fantasy land that everyone will eventually get along on every topic, ESPECIALLY when folks on here see it as a threat to putting food on their table.

Was it reported? I never saw it.

I am all about good EXCHANGES of information. You go back and look to see who was first in being disrespectful in this thread.

Let me know... There is plenty off being a dick going around. That comes from a lack of civility that is creeping into our community...

Re the subject at hand:

I agree that there is a threat, but when the messenger acts like a jerk, the message gets lost...

Same thing I've (we've) been saying for years.

Don't act like a victim. You're not.

Facts were presented by TP. Some just have a hard time grasping it. When it doesn't fit their version of reality, they offer a step-around excuse. But perhaps best to let it go. No one is going to change anyone's mind in this thread.
TP's facts are twisted. He is confusing the money reimbursed to the airlines for the NAS shutdown with the $5 billion ATSB loans the government offered. Loans which had to be paid back with interest. If you pay it back with interest, it's not a subsidy.

Of the big carriers, US Air, AWA, and NA got the ATSB Loans. United applied, but was turned down, and Aa, NWA, and DAL never applied.

Not to mention, the government made bank on all of the loans as they were repaid early but with the full interest amounts if I recall.

It has been happening a lot lately. @ATN_Pilot and I get attacked, yet the mods get pissy at us.

They are also missing the point that we are talking about issues that can decimate our careers. I think it has actually been pretty tame.
I don't see how anybody can not be pissed off at an unfair advantage the foreign carriers have. Yes you have been much more tame as of lately.

If someone calls me a "goon" or anything else, please do not go after him. I can't stand it when people don't speak their minds. I want to know what someone really thinks, not a watered down version that they think the mods want them to say.

I get your point. I've also been called far worse. I also don't care what I'm called.

The point I'm trying to make is if WE called someone a goon or scumbag people would be all over us.

Yeah, I get your point and agree. Just wanted to be clear that I don't want censorship, even if it's over something someone said to me. The solution isn't to go after the guys who attack us just to keep it even, it's to let everyone speak honestly.

You feel that being a jerk to other people is okay and that our trying to moderate that part of it is censorship and that's crap. I would recommend that you just go back to your discussion about what you believe in and stop throwing punches at the moderation staff.

Criticizing is not "throwing punches." You feel that you're beyond reproach, and you are not. When someone feels that he is, that's usually a good sign that he is someone who shouldn't be in a position of authority.
