Best noise cancelling headset for your money?

Well shoot that sounds awesome. Go get some and let me know how they work. I'll by you a beer.

If I wasn't pondering replacing my aging laptop right now, I'd probably already have a set. Right now I'm still soldering on with my 9 year old Flightcom 5DXs that I bought right before I earned my PPL. Better than nothing I guess, but I need to replace the ear seals and mic muff on it.

Bose are the best. I know they're the most expensive, but they're still the best for your money. Second is the Zulu. Third is a pair of ear plugs and whatever you want to use (my opinion).

I have the mach ones. I used them in the emb-145 before my furlough. Worked wonderfully in the RJ. Now I'm using them in the caravan, and they work great. It's just like wearing ear plugs, the sound quality is amazing. They do make custom ear molds, but I've just been using the blue silicone/whatever they are plugs. You do have to grab the top of your ear and cram them in there, but other than that they work great, are light on your head, and you can wear sunglasses all day and not have a problem or a massive headache at the end of the day!

They are quieter than the sennheiser hmec-400 (with sunglasses on, as the seal is broken) with the glasses off, they aren't as quiet. I love mine and would like the custom ear molds, you don't have to use the ear hook if you have the molds. I'm just too cheap and lazy to get them done. I'm hoping that they have a special booth at oshkosh so I can get them in the week i'm there, but i doubt it. Also, they aren't TSO'd, so if your company decides that you have to wear a tso'd headset, these are out. I really enjoy them.

Jonny. Thanks for the reply. I fly mainly GA stuff right now..some of it pretty noise with the piston engines but although I do like my bose it's tough to deal with the sweat during the desert summers as I'm sure your well aware of. Do you think they would do ok with GA application or would there not be enough noise reduction?

I have used them in a 172 and they work just fine. As long as you don't sell your Bose, just take them both, when you're tired of the over the ear, try the in the ear.

The Mach1's will fit in a sandwich sized tupperware container. I beat the crap outta mine every day and have had no problems in the year i've had them.
