Being a pilot is cool.

Maybe it was centimeters. I'm not winning at the Metric Conversion Initiative...
I was referring my Latin Coworkers ability to grow facial hair faster than me with my Nordic heritage. It takes me two days to get a 5 o'clock shadow.

BTW: I am sporting a goatee, not sure how the boss feels about it, but has not said anything yet, so I guess it's allowed.

Do not pick a vocation on how cool you think it is, or the people are. Or whatever "mystique" it had when airlines were flying Connies. In a job, you are selling your time for money. Period. If I could make more money cleaning septic tanks, I would clean septic tanks. If I could make more money running carnival rides, I would run carnival rides. Whether you are a prostitute or the CEO of Goldman, you are selling your time for money. At the end of the day, you make your own mystique.

This is why I like you.

The oxygen masks on my (Brazilian-made, but now that I think of it the masks are probably made by some Boeing affiliate) airplane make it rather clear that beards won't seal.

I did have a moment at work last week where I scratched my chin, thought, "Damn, I need to shave!" and then realized how long I'd been on duty.

Si. You still pondering relocation?
Yes, subject to the "plan" coming out.

Having moved twice last year, I'm not really down for a third time unless it's going to be for a good long while. And I won't know until they tell us whether or not I'll be flying 88 seats or not.
