Private operators of vintage B-25 bombers took off Sunday, April 18, from a runway behind the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, then flew over a memorial service outside the museum for the Doolittle Raiders who flew a top-secret bombing raid of Japan 68 years ago Sunday. This image shows 10 of the 17 B-25 planes that were flown to Dayton for the Doolittle Raiders' weekend reunion, which ended Sunday.

An instructor at my flight school has a type rating in a B-25.

That would have been an awesome sight.
 
Largest of its kind since WWII?

I thought the B-25s that were brought together for the movie Catch-22 was the largest B-25 formation since WWII.......
 
Work travels often have me on Euclid which crosses the departure end of Chino. I've seen everything flying from flights of P-51's to the F-117. The Flying Wing prototype to a B-24. Rich guys making low passes in there surplus military jets. Last week a lone B-17 departed Chino and turned for John Wayne.

No record broken. It says here:

It say "one of the largest" gatherings, which in comparison to the Catch 22 one, would be accurate. Equal to each other.

Even though the article title is a lie.

Older B-25s? By what? A year or less?

What are you talking about? The planes?

If you are talking about when these planes were built, they were all built at the same time during WWII. So 17 flying in 1968 together, and 17 flying now together, is the same thing.

The argument of the title of the story has nothing to do with how old planes are. The title of the story, and the story itself, is promoting or inferring the number of planes airborne being the largest formation of Mitchell's since WWII; which simply is inaccurate.

I don't know where the age argument of the airplanes now worked itself in?
