Aviator Sunglasses? Why?

Polarized lenses actually give me a headache in the airplane. In the CRJ the windows will form "rainbows" that can be quite distracting/disorienting to me. Also, it becomes hard to see the FMS. Serenghetti's seem to work best for me. I wear the Humberto's

I wear my Ray-Ban aviators cause they are prescription and my 2nd class medical certificate says I have to :)

nope, but I ordered a pair of $15 oakley replicas. I've beat them up pretty good out here in the sand.

I wear Ray Ban sport predators when I fly. They have narrow arms so my head doesn't hurt after a few hours of flying.

Thanks for all the help. I bought a pair of Oakley Fives today. They fit my face perfectly, are light and thin enough around the face and ears so that they shouldn't hurt with my headset on.

I must have tried on like 40 pairs of sunglasses, the poor guy at sunglass hut was porbebly about to kill me...Oh well.

On a related note, I just had my eye appointment last week, Got an exam, I have 20/30 and have to get a bi-focal for the close up stuff. Two pairs of glasses, One with clip on shades and the other with a very dark lens. $840!! Does this sound about right? Wow! Think i will go to Wally World next time.

Damn, I only spent $3700 for my surgery.
I never paid more than 300 bucks for 6 months of contacts and a pair of glasses from Wal-Mart. But I had a free exam because I was in the MIlitary.

that doesn't sound right....bi-focals will cost you more but you don't have to have them. I tried them once and found them to be really difficult to get my eyes to adjust to, so i just use 2 pairs of glasses... one for reading, one for driving. why would you have 2 sets of prescription sunglasses? All you need is 1 pair.

also, are you using insurance? if so, it shouldn't cost that much.
