How much time do you have?
I'm not an ATP holder if that's what your asking. But I do have plenty non "flight hours" experiences if that counts for a non-flight hours conversation.
Dumb regulations like this + poor airline pilot wages are the things that keeps someone with so much love and respect for this industry, profession, and my "self-worthiness" away from seeking this thing-a-ma-jig called an ATP profession.
If you must know..... Military aircraft mechanic since 2001, Pvt 2002, Inst rated 2003, Got out military 2007, flew to meet COM requirments, went to college full time. Ran out of money. Passed my CFI Oral today
! Examiner said I did an outstanding job, best he's seen in a long time" and "Top 5 that he's examined," he said. Obviously that makes me feel great! But the plane is actually broke so no fly for a few weeks (need time off Fracking in ND oil patch job. Yes Oil field job to stack up for this low paying CFI/ or Regional Airline Industry). I'll have to fly back in a few weeks to finish up flight portion. Can't let the good discontinuance letter expire like I did for my COMM back in 2007.
LONG DEBT FREE ROAD JUST TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS... Just upsetting that the the FAA now say's $10K+ just to take a written.....

.... You see why people like me are "vexed" with this industry/FAA's retardedness?
To be honest. I wouldn't mind teaching as a CFI forever.... I love helping people learn and will seek to be Gold Seal.
