ATP Written

If anyone is strapped for time, not cash, I'd recommend the all day ATP program at ATP. Did absolutely zero studying before, walked in at 8am and walked out at 4pm with an 84-88 I don't remember the score, but it worked

Q: "Does PSA plan to offer the course(s) that will be required to obtain a ATP written effective in August? ( The Sims/Ground School):
A: "Yes, our Director of Training is in the process now of writing the curriculum for the CTP program effective in August"

Q: Does ExpressJet plan to offer the course(s) that will be required to obtain a ATP written effective in August? ( The Sims/Ground School)
A: ExpressJet knows the importance of helping student pilots achieve their ATP. In addition to our industry-leading pilot training, we have developed an ATP-CTP course and are awaiting final FAA approval. We look forward to the next generation of commercial pilots completing our internal program. Keep in touch, ExpressJet Pilot Recruiting

Not sure about anyone else.

PSA, lol.

Anyway..the curriculum was written by the FAA, psa is writing the syllabus.

It was the recruiter....not the smartest person ever lol.

What independent company is even going to offer the course? FSI? CAE?

I'm on the fence between Sheppard Air($75 and have to dedicate study time+$150 for the test=$225) or just putting one day aside and paying the extra money for the $70 for the $295 ATP course and not having to worry about it before/after. What does ya'll think?

I must be the only guy who thinks that the airlines will pay for the ATP-CTP program. If they won't pay for the new requirements, then think of the staffing chaos that will result from the dearth of applicants. No way that a poor CFI will ever be able to afford $20,000 for these shenanigans that are being heaped upon us. They know that 99% of their hiring pool can not afford it....

I'm with you on the fact it would make no sense...but it's the airlines and the FAA. I've spent too many years working directly with both to question the logic of any decision they make.

Hey, if anything comes out of this, the regionals will stand to benefit the most from it. "You want your ATP certificate? Get away from that part 135 operator/flight school that you've been working it, trying to escape us and come fly with us instead. You'll earn it once you pass our training...because it's the only way for you to acquire it now. Oh, and btw...since we will be kind enough in paying for your alls ATPs, you will have to sign a five year training contract with us...for which you'll have to pay the full amount back if you don't stay with us for the full duration...hahaha suckorz."

I paid for Shepard Air, and I spent 12 hours solid in a day studying. Then took the test within 24 hours of when I started studying. Got a 93.

Either way, you can set a day aside and do it. I set my day aside, and I studied using Shepard Air.

Damn dude, 12 hours? Nice job. I get pretty distracted, I'm leaning towards ATP since I'm forced to do nothing but study and have a few hundred bucks on the line. The testing center nearest to my house is closed for renovations and may or may not be open in time for the test if I do it that way. Seriously though, the mad rush of people taking the ATP written before 8/1 and you decide to do construction on your testing center? The hell's wrong with these fools.

Yep, and I'd like to avoid signing my life away to some random regional. Though if getting my commercial this summer doesn't work out, I doubt I'll get the 1500 hours I need for the ATP in the next 2 years. Unless...that whole glider loop hole...hmm...

Wow...some of you guys are lucky with your photographic memory. It takes me three days of full time study just to score over 85%. Just too many questions that could be on that test.

Fly blimps or hot air balloons, best way to rack up that TT is to go SLOOOOOW

Haha if only I knew where to do either one of those...
Network, I almost got my commercial/CFI balloon just by talking to a guy at my airport. I ended up getting a 121 job before I could do it, but I still may do it down the line.
