Since I was the first one to start this whole thing, I was not aware it would open a can of worms. With the links, websites, and user comments, it appears that a clearer picture of what is going to happen has developed. So maybe it wasn;t such a bad thing to have posted this. I am still pondering entering aviation vs. PhD in chem. I have been accepted into the program at two good universities. Both options have pros and cons. PhD = ~5yrs low pay, intense work, but good pay and reasonable job security once I finish. Aviation = Lots of fun, great work if you can actually find it, but low pay, and unstable job security. If I wait until after 6/1 to make my choice, I probably will choose the former, because I do not want to pay that much for ME training.
