The Polar side has nothing to do with negotiations this go around. Atlas/Polar is already one list. Atlas Air pilots fly on both certificates.

I can see some folks jumping over there for the type, but I can see "my friend" saying, "What the deuce were you thinking?"

Take a 40k a year job just for a type rating? No thanks. I'd rather just pay for the type and keep a higher paying job while I apply to other airlines.

Yes, the Polar certificate has 5th freedom rights and landing rights in Asia.

That certificate is also "49%" equity owned by DHL.
