Atlantic Southeast Airlines/ExpressJet

Just got called today to go interview down in ATL. I applied on airline apps about 4 weeks ago. This will be my first airline interview so any advice would be much appreciated!

You got called at 850/95 ME???

Airline interviews has a good gouge.

Yeah 850TT/95ME and ATP written. I was on airline apps one night a few weeks ago and saw that the mins for ASA were 500/50. I figured it had to be a mistake but I figured I'd apply anyways (sure enough, they were back up over 1000TT the next day). They called today and said they liked what they saw on my resume. I wasn't expecting to hear from them so I was pretty surprised when they called.

Just got back from interviewing Monday and Tuesday of this week. All of the gouges at the various sites are pretty spot-on. Everyone was great and extremely pleasant and helpful. As many have said before, they make you feel very relaxed as you are going through the process. I was stressing pretty hard about the technical interview, but in the end it was the SIM that kicked my a$$. It's not a hard flight profile, I just got overwhelmed with the aircraft (737). Just remember that it's only a plane. Hit me up if you have any questions!

PM me. I wanna know what exactly did they like?

On the ASA side we just had a group of 12 start on May 2.

XJT is suppose to hire another 32 this month (May)

So far this year we have hired 72 new pilots on the ASA side and 240 on the XJT side.

I can only speak for the ASA side, but we have been pretty short staffed, esp. on the Captain side and the CR7/9 side. One of the CPs here was saying that they might increase the crew count for our new DTW base from 56 to 100 per seat. April was suppose to be the last new hire class, but as you see they've already just started another one on May 2, and I have a feeling there will be another on May 16.

Company statement from our Dear Leader still leaves much to be desired.

None of us care how many we have hired, we want to know how many we will be hiring this year...Because what we have hired, isn't helping our numbers at all. And until we get the desired information - or more importantly - an honest outlook going forward, the tune won't be changing on the line.

Just got back from the interview in ATL. I think I did pretty well so fingers crossed! IF I get an offer they have a XJT class that needs filled but they said if you want ASA they will put you in a pool. Should I have an opinion about which one I want to go to? Everyone at ASA was great, it really seems like a nice place to work.

XJT has hired enough this year, folks should start flooding the ASA pool...

:sarcasm:

Anyway...doesn't really matter, one company, both of which are getting beat pretty badly when it comes to staffing, and yet they're only really pumping bodies into one operation right now.

It's a fine place to work, either one really, so I would really narrow it down to if you want to be Atlanta based, as IAD and DTW are going to likely remain fairly small and could evaporate any day, or if you want to head off to one of the more exotic locations within the ExpressJet system.

Well in my interview group everyone seemed to be in their 20's. I was the youngest there at 23. A few people were 24.

I will be 20 later this year, but Im flying 100+ hours each month, any chance they might consider a 20 year old. I have the basic qualifications CPL- MEL, Instrument, 100+ multi engine time.
