Asiana Door Opened in Flight

More information than you ever wanted.

The Pilatus had no mechanism to prevent opening a pressurized door. On the jeeeeeettttt we have a little vent flap that opens as soon as you start rotating the handle.

It’s kind of funny when they brief you on the diaper bungee jump thing on the 757.
We had an AA guy onboard a few months ago who had flown the 75/76 when they had them. You should've seen his face when he discovered we didn't have an escape slide. He looked at me and the captain like we were from another planet when the captain briefed the escape reels. The take off where we lifted off before the end of the TDZ and did 6000FPM in the climb was icing on the cake for him :bounce:.
