ASA PBS TA reached

It is a PBS TA only. There is a tentative agreement on PBS only, and they still have to write the LOA. By switching to PBS, we will have to completely re-write our scheduling section. Also, by agreeing to this we will also extend our current contract 1 year and we will get a 1% raise on the anniversary (pathetic).

Okay, so it's an LOA to the existing contract, not a TA. Like was already said, 1% for a contract extension AND PBS is giving away the store, more or less. The company is gonna have a TON of cash by making the pilots more productive, and they lock you in for another year.

Yup. Some guys are going to vote yes no matter what.. I am reserving judgement till the complete details are out.

If it's an LOA, you won't be voting. MEC votes and passes on LOAs unless your bylaws are totally different than ours.

You would be voting on it at PCL, too. We passed a resolution way back in '05 that required a membership vote for anything that significantly affected scheduling work rules, rates of pay, retirement, or scope. Most MECs require the same. At AirTran we require it for any LOA, but I believe FedEx is the only other MEC that has that requirement.

You mean like something that would allow a TDY of -900 FOs to DTW for -200 pay? Yeah, that wasn't gonna get voted on. If we hadn't made it BLATANTLY obvious to the MEC that DTW FOs would riot if it happened, those guys would be flying the -200 for -900 pay right now. It's a good resolution, and I'm glad ASA has it. However, I'm having some serious crisis of faith in our union representation right now.

Having not seen the LOA, I can't really say whether it would qualify or not. I understand your concerns with the reps, though. But there is a resolution on the books that required MEMRAT in many cases.

LOA never saw the light of day, thankfully. But the guys were in class for a day before management figured out it wasn't gonna happen.
