ASA/ExpressJet

TSA has newly signed contract and is a smaller company with only around 300 pilots. No pilot there is making it a career place so movement tends to be faster. Seems that they are only taking people that have at least 1000 hrs of 121 time for some reason or another.
What airline are you coming from?
Did you do any research in TSA? Good luck and I hope it works out for I would have picked XJT.

Smart move. TSA has a smaller pilot group than the number of XJT CRJ FOs ahead of me for upgrade(350+) and I've been here 6 years. And we are shrinking(19 200s gone this fall)

Why are the hiring so many? The fatigue issue?

You can only jump equipment on upgrade right?

I'm not sure I understand the question but....The two aircraft types are still operationally separate as well as the pilot groups. ERJ FO ->ERJ CA only. I'm sure eventually they'll be together and will offer quite a variety in terms of types and domiciles available.

You said below:

jetBlue, Spirit, United, UsAir are the top takers I think. Many more from the ERJ side moving onwards than the CRJ side. The company publishes attrition data...

I took that ERJ pilots moving to the CRJ side. My mistake

I guess I'll vote yes for any crappy contract they put in front of me, cuz.... I don't want to feel left out...

Baron man said it, but I'll echo this. We have as many fo's as captains leaving as well.

Don't believe the hype, the sucking sound is starting to get louder.
There is something to it - the sucking sound is present on the west side as well, from about the middle of the list.

Basically the top third is happy where they are and the rest of us are all "SPIRIT, UNITED, US AIR. HIRE ME NAO." (And Virgin too)

Why such a difference in attrition?

I'm not really sure. My WAG is that XJTers have more ties with CAL/UNITED which explains those hires. As for JBLU/SPIRIT there are plenty of Newark guys who jumped all over the JFK/Atlantic City bases. Had DL been hiring maybe more ASA guys would be gone.

From my interview there, they said you would be on reserve pretty much any base. Some bases you could only be on reserve for 4-8 months others you could spend years on reserve. But then again it is a regional and things change quickly.
