ASA/Express new identity: SureJet!

In all reality it really isn't THAT bad. I'm sure Right Guard Airlines would probably be received a little harshly by the passengers. Speedstick Jet wouldn't be too bad. Old Spice Jet would make some people want to fly on New Spice Jet instead. Ohhh Mitchum Jet. Secret Airlines would be fun.

If you look at it like that SureJet rolls off the tongue a lot better!

It's better than BanJet and TAGJet as well (although the latter would probably help with the emerging 13-yr old male ticket sales market). Probably not as awesome as AxeJet, though.

Rumor is the name change is on hold. I really hope they will change it before SOC.

They should just name the company ExpressJet and make the callsign Acey, that way you please more people than with SureJet.

My condolences to my former coworkers. This really sucks. Talk about an identity crisis. RIP XJT and ASA. You will be missed. Damn, I hope you guys can get this name wacked. I hear the new wings are gonna be butterfly wings.

HOT OFF THE RUMOR PRESS:

The SureJet name is on-hold. Two internal mgmt. sources and a post on our company pilot forums are reporting this.

Hoping it's true! :)

Edit:

I see CRJDriver is reporting the same.

Woohoo!

Leaders:

In a few minutes we will be posting the below story on ourASA. This “ground stop” on the name SureJet is a safety net to ensure we get all the feedback we can to move forward appropriately. Also, please forward the general feedback you’re receiving from your teams to Corporate Communications by 3 p.m. today.

Thanks for your leadership,

Corporate Communications

==========================

Ground stop placed on “SureJet”

Due to significant feedback regarding the launch of the SureJet name, the leadership team is parking the name for further evaluation and is asking for further input from our people. An electronic survey on ourASA will be available later today for everyone, including those who have already submitted comments online, and we encourage everyone to participate.

Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Inc.

So, being that they chose SureJet ... I guess that definitively says they'll never operate more-efficient 50-70 seat turboprops?

May they do the right thing and LISTEN to the criticism of this ghastly name idea.

There are so many other options. They don't have to do something stupid [like naming an airline SureJet].

If you work there, PLEASE take their suggestion and give your input! Management needs to hear what you think!

An open email to the decision-makers at ASA:

Please hire an outside public relations firm. One that sees that you shouldn't name an airline after deodorant or a copyrighted name of a printer from Hewlett Packard.

The first fifteen seconds of the video told many of us all we needed to know about the emotional investment the decision makers had in the new name, which floated like a lead balloon.

A lot more "Don Draper" and a lot less "Creative Writing Assignment".

In the end, no one really cares what you're named. It's all about how your employees and customers feel about your safety, performance, reliability and, well, fairness.

All the best-

The Peanut Gallery.

For the foreseeable future the company will be predominantly jets...When we get 200+ Turbo-efficient crash landing Q's on line, then we'll be SureProp.

JiffyProp. Friends... Allies... Slightly reminiscent of snack food.

I'm sure waiting for this to back fire as well.

These clowns can't even come up with an inspiring name for a combined company. Hell, they think THEY need a new name. Screw it. After this joke I'm pretty sure any of us will take either Atlantic Southeast (in ExpressJet font) or ExpressJet with the "new" Atlantic Southeast Logo as the long-term name of this company.

However, they'll take our input...and come up with some a new synergistic disaster...except...it won't be new...they'll just stick it to us with SureJet again.

I'm guessing it will remain Express Jet with the ASA logo. Atlantic Southeast, from a marketing perspective is too suggestive to one particular region and doesn't promote the concept of "worlds largest regional airline". Thats my opinion. Regardless, good luck. Damn I wish I could still login to see the comments.

Kinda like the name "Southwest" means "only in the southwest"?

Maybe their "tagline" should've been "worlds largest regional airline" to remove any doubt?

Anyone ever watch Better off Ted (now discontinued)? That show pretty much sums up this debacle.

I think my airline tried the "Hoo hoo! We're the world's largest airline! Lookit us!" right up until CAL merged with UAL and, well, oops, gotta order fresh letterhead now.

Your company also didn't go through three re-brandings in a two year period...after 'merging' another company...

Could you imagine Delta leadership sitting at a table thinking how best to "work the new Brand" into the parent company?

We've got some real clowns over here unfortunately.

Haven't you heard?!? Real pilots don't stoop so low as to fly a turboprop....and real mgmt teams don't lower their company standards to consider such a disaster either.

Props are for losers!!!
