Great. Does anyone know when United and/or American may be posting next?Within the next 1-2 weeks, Alaska should be posting dispatcher positions on their careers website. Just received word of the hiring approval for 4 dispatchers to start this fall. Keep your eyes out for it if you're interested.
Cheers!

salary question? bottom and top?
We *should* be hiring right now at AA. We could use many more desks open to reduce the workload. Also, OT is plentiful and on rare occasions a desk or two gets closed on a shift due to staffing when they cant find anyone for OT. However, I wouldnt expect hiring until 2018 or 2019 unless the Feds force a workload reduction or the L-US side cant handle the increased workload next year.

Hiring page calls them "Dispatcher" still, right? Nothing fancy-like?

Seriously??
EVERYONE in this office should be raising holy hell about the workload. It has nothing to do with LUS "handling" the workload. If I wanted to be a clerk instead of a dispatcher, then sure I could put out a boat load of releases. On the other hand I don't feel that the quality of my work should suffer because management can't pull their heads out of their you-know-whats.
Day AA opens their doors, those W/O'd regionals will start looking like this:
"Sign here please. Here's your badge."

Mainline has a history of hiring from Envoy. If I worked for the other two, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Yeah, it may say Reserve Dispatcher, but same difference. Same pay, same work.

Alaska top of scale = $63.13 / hour, plus "Performance Based Pay" bonus program with a target payout of 5% of eligible annual earning (actual payout has been around 9% last several years), plus small fuel incentive bonus.
Chief / ATC / Training positions pay 110% of the hourly rate.
Line holders can bid either 4-on/ 4-off 10 hour shifts or 5-on 3-off / 5-on 3-off / 5-on 4-off -8.5 hour shifts
Plentiful OT / double time shifts available the last few years, but that may subside a bit after this class is out of training.
