Approach Plates required?

Really? You prefer having to look all over for non-standard take off and alternate minimums? Obstacle information and inoperative equipment minimums tables?

Once you are used to where everything is, it isn't that bad. I prefer the NOS/NACO charts too. Plus, no chart updates to deal with.

I use whatever my company makes me use but my personal preference is NOS. I really like the little airport diagram on the approach plate with the arrow that shows the direction you will arrive from.

Ya know, we used jepp at ACE, and frankly, the NACO is the way to go, its cheaper (relatively) and if you need to, you can grab the chart off the web. Nothing sucks more than putting in all of your jepp revisions.

LIDO revisions suck harder than Jepp revisions. :)

I personally prefer Jepp, but like Stan said, once you're used to something, it's pretty much all the same. I'm gonna have to re-learn Jepps for interviews now that LIDO has me all jacked up.

Another aviation myth (depending on the coverage area). More often than not, if NACO is cheaper, the difference is negligible.

Re: Revisions...

Jeppview FTW

Plop the CD in or pull it off the web.

Yeah, that was news to me too, so it must have been recently......or I'm just a dumbass :)

Nah, no dumbass. The names constantly change.....I think on the third iteration now.

I don't mind Jepps insofar as the actual plates themselves or the information format; I just happen to prefer NOS, given a choice.
