The elusive Corbin.

[/ QUOTE ]He's real, I've met him. So have the rest of the SkiJC '04 crew!

And I've got nothing but nice things to say about the guy, especially since he safely led us in to the middle of nowhere and back out again!!!

Though for a while we were wondering if he was taking us to the middle of nowhere to kill us and leave us for whatever various animals would be wandering the Utah mountain woods.

Just long enough to pick up the mail order bride.

Come on, if there was no Corbin, I'd be having everyone of you "availables" over for dinner. Well, except the "old" guys.

Another pilot groupie......yeah.

I am a native Russian as well and I've gone once in the last 5 years, in 2001. My folks are in Omsk in Siberia and that's where I mostly grew up.
I've gone on British Airways trough London: PHX-LGW, LHR-SVO.

I can jump on DAL now but you need a little more that 3 days off to make it over there!

I would recommend visiting both Moscow and St. Pete, esp. since most of the traffic goes through SVO anyway. Just remember - most of the Russians don't speak English - you've got to be in some travel/tourist group with organized tours and translators.
Enjoy!

Um hello in Russian is quite possible one of the longest words I've EVER had to learn. It's like "zrdazveetyeh." Best I can do without a cyrillic keyboard

A quick cheat for you... Use "brevet" (again, can't type cyrillic) it isn't as formal as zdrazveetyeh but it will do the trick. I spent about three weeks in Petrozavosk (north of St. Pete) in '98 on an exchange program. We flew BA into SVO and then took a train north. I really liked St. Pete a lot more then Moscow. Other then that, all I can say is it is REALLY cold in the winter.

Sounds really good to me. You will love it if you go with the right tour guide.

Like I said, I've always wanted to go to Russia. My sketchy (at best Russian) and lack of knowledge of a good tour guide (together with lack of funds) have been holding me back.
