Not saying that non-PEPC is the long way, but I took my DD-214 with the Top Secret clearance to the FTW PEPC and I was in class two weeks later.
Anyone else turn down a PEPC for a local interview?

I just sent off the fingerprint cards and all the other paperwork that needed to be filled out and sent back in 10 days. I got my self scheduled for a drug test and scheduled for a medical. I was wondering how long it took for you to hear back on the pysch eval. I have been hearing from the faa regional office that it could be a while before i hear back.

I finally got all my clearances...well, except for medical. The MMPI results are in and I am good to go. But when my "FAA girl" checked on my medical clearance, I never did an EKG. So now I have to go back to the AME and get my EKG. Ho hum...
Apparently having a current and unrestricted 1st class medical is working against me.
Good news though that the end of my waiting is in sight. Hang in there folks, the FAA told me today that both medical and security are very, very backed up. So be patient, and hang in there. That is all I can say, hang in there.
Oh and every now and then, go ahead and :banghead:!

Finally!
Got my TOL & paperwork Saturday- working at the fine SD Lindbergh International! Awesome- that was my first choice.
Very excited.
A little concerned because I hear the classes are all super full now. I NEED to get out of my current job- pronto.

Let me put it this way, I applied the same time you did. I interviewed in April and I got my TOL in the beginning of July. I am still waiting for my FOL and class date. So I am really sorry about your current job. After you get all the paperwork done, there is still alot more waiting. But I think it is a little bit worse. Now all you have to wait for is FOL. at least the end is in sight. Congrats and stay patient.

Sent my transcripts in again 2 weeks ago, still no TOL, not even a reply to the e-mail I sent saying I'd faxed the transcripts. E-mailed David Traynor again today asking if he had any idea what was going on, not getting my hopes up on a reply though. Anybody know who else I can contact?

I got a cc of an email to someone here in wonderful MT regarding the scheduling of the MMPI but I haven't heard anything for a couple of weeks. I know that all of the background check info went out because the people that got them were said that they had. But anyway, does anyone have any comments on how long it took them to schedule the MMPI. I know my actual medical with the AME is still about a month off because there is only one guy that does it here and he is on vacation.

I had to wait a month for them to schedule my MMPI. But I've heard of others having a shorter wait. Hopefully yours happens sooner than later.:crazy:

I just got a call today from the tower manager here to schedule the MMPI test. Going to take it next week.

After email and phone heckling the FAA I got my TOL emailed to me today. Spokane ATCT (GEG). Not quite what I had hoped for, I really wanted Seattle, but I'll give it a go and see how it works out. Apparently its an up/down which I'm not excited about, I wanted to be a dedicated tower guy. Oh well, I'll take it and see how it goes. Now the fun of paperwork and scheduling medicals and drug tests, yay.

I know someone that works there in GEG. Says that they are short on people. He was getting about $1000 in overtime pay. So good luck with everything. GEG is one of the spots I had put down on the geo prefs for pubnat2. I don't know if that even got considered because of my current app. Will see.

Just to update-- Received email TOL today. It's been 5+ weeks since the interview. Calling/emailing about it DOES work-- the offer was dated like 2 weeks ago and they sent it immediately after I finally called.

Still waiting for that FOL.... anic: if you look at my timeline its been a while. I wish my family and friends didnt know about this so they would all stop asking me when i am going! They are all driving me nuts!

I went the non pepc route. Got referred on the ASAP site on 3/25, told them i wanted to do non pepc. Had my interview around mid may, got my TOL on 06/25, (after bugging them, she happened to have it on her desk)got my FOL on Sep 12, and got a school date for oct 20. It all took awhile but hey I like vacation!!!! I got out of the military 02/24 so I got some of that sweet unemployment action....

I do not know if I am the first or not to get a class date from the non-PEPC route, but I did finally get mine. I start OKC on 10/30. I am headed to NY TRACON (N90). I applied as part of the FEBots. I hope all hang in there. And if I am wrong about being the first, I apologize. I am not trying to win an award here or anything, I just want to let everyone know that if you stay patient, these things do happen. Thanks.
