He flew about 50 hours in 6 months - hence why he quit and came to a regional (to fly and build time).
Oh, I can imagine. Been there done it. I'd like to hear some of these "stories" though. The DA-20's are freight, the DC-9's are freight and pax. They do a lot of charter for the US auto industry (which is why they are based in detriot). He told me lots of stories about "bribes" and such down in mexico. Some of the stories were scary (like deathly scary from the places he was at). I guess you get used to it though. Imagine getting a call at 3AM, waking up, getting a shower, putting on clothes, shaving, brushing teeth, etc. and out the door in 15 minutes for the 5 minute drive to the airport. They made it illeagal for dominoz pizza drivers to make the 30 min guarantee, but not for pilots..hmmmDE727UPS said:"If you don't get to the airport within 20 minutes you DON'T GET PAID for that trip (even if you end up flying)"
I can't believe that's legal. Gotta be against some labor law. Could you confirm that for me?

I don't know if they still use them or not, I would think they don't.
