Think the pay/conditions are much better at XJT, Pinnacle, Mesaba, etc?
[/ QUOTE ]
I never said ANY of them were better.
[ QUOTE ]
Obviously these guys are slumming it in the regionals until they're recalled, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong.
[ QUOTE ]
Why would HR spend the money to train these guys, then have them say "see ya" when they're recall comes in...
[/ QUOTE ]Wrong again. Good try at dodging though.
I'm talking about the the guys that HAVE NO RECALL RIGHTS. The name Midway and TWA, (15 yrs of USAir pilots) etc ring a bell? If the regionals are so grand, wouldn't these guys rather enjoy their "love of aviation" rather than Home Depot for the same wage?

And just b/c a pilot has 10,000 hours doesn't mean he's a good fit for the organization.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, your right. 10,000 hours of 121 time can't hold a candle to a 500 hour academy grad.

...some are probably bitter as hell that he's having to start over as a $20/hr FO under some 25 year old captain. I'm sure THAT makes for good CRM.

I'm a bit north of 25, but I have flown with furloughees and retirees from all the majors here at NetJets (as well as many from Midway and Comair). Many of these guys are twice my age and have more time over the Atlantic/Pacific than I have care to think about. They make as much now per year as they used to make per MONTH. All have been SUPER to fly with. Insubordinate? NEVER. Chip on their shoulder? No. Did they care that I was "the young kid" in the left seat? Of course not.
Yes, I know there are some bitter guys out there. Those same guys would complain if they got hired anywhere. But they are FAR from the majority.
