Another Skywest ALPA Drive

It's not really up to you to decide what is and what is not a good decision for ALPA national. If your not going to support another drive here, I think your time would be better spent lobbying your MEC to keep us from launching EMB-190's on the west coast and flying it for 50 seat wages.

After reading about how upset you were with that announcement, you'd think you'd be really happy to hear about another union drive here.
 
It's sad we are really just running out of money at the union, and Skywest has to become a lost cause. O well, not like you can force it on them.

Maybe that CEO at Allegiant will continue screwing its pilots over... ALPA can have a gimme on that one. Supposedly they are trying one more time to reason with the guy.

I told them to just write up everything on the aircraft. That'll send a quicker message. :)

Obviously I'm a pro-ALPA guy for a lot of reasons..

... but if I could choose only one, it'd be the insurance.

Having immediate legal, mediation, medical advice, and countless other resources in the unfortunate event that I find myself doing a carpet dance is invaluable to my peace of mind.

Peace of mind = quality of life.

I don't understand. SKYW management unilaterally changed your health insurance to save them millions and to screw the employees.

I hope none of your kids ever get cancer.

It's hard to believe that I have more protection at Colgan Air than at a regional conglomorate that is, Skywest Inc.

I've heard bad things about their CEO but what is he trying to pull now?

Conversations have already been going with certain individuals and a successful union drive at SkyW is most certainly not out of the picture. This time a grassroots type approach will take place, we don't want sandwiches, pizza or loads of money. What we do want is everyone's support.

I won't go into further details, but the game most certainly isn't over yet.

I seriously had to laugh at this. "Not fair?" It's more fair than what is there now. If you care one way or the other, vote. If you don't, well, it doesn't get counted. As it stand right now, if you don't vote, it gets counted as a "no." Simple as that. So, everyone in the company has to vote. Wow, they might actually have to get off their butts and....no, wait. You can vote on the web. Or the phone. Or a mail in ballot. It's not that hard. If you don't want to make that little bit of effort, then that person doesn't really care which way it swings and has no right to complain regardless of the outcome. If it makes it to the voting process, vote the way you feel. If you don't vote....well, apathy wins again. Only this time it might not take everyone else down with it.

Just to correct 1 thing. Skywest Inc. owns skywest airlines and ASA. ASA is obviously ALPA and we are NOT getting this health insurance crap sandwich that skywest is chowing down on along with their kookaid.

Nice, so all that would be accomplished is another two companies fighting tooth and nail with each other, why does this seem to happen only at unionized carriers...TSA, Gojet, Republic, Midwest, Frontier, Skywest (if become ALPA), ASA, Mesa, Xjet, Compass, AA, TWA, Ozark, AWA, UsAir, etc etc etc....whats the common denominator, could it be that every carrier regardless of union affiliation is looking out for itself, period....
Anyone see a pattern here........;)
