Another Skywest ALPA Drive

I think it requires a *little* bit of effort--some appendix D-type of thing.

I don't think it's that UAL isn't watching them--just that the company adjusts pay. Maybe a Gojetter can enlighten us.

One reason to love my /A Saab. None of those stupid computers to tell me when I start to get paid, just the guy in the left seat. :D

Can be done with TAMDAR, doesn't have to remove your /A status. Anyway, if you could just turn your Saab into a 1900 you'd really be in love.

As unmanly as it sounds, I love my autopilot.

Flying the 1900 in the terminal environment would be enough to make a lot of pilots forsake their autopilot! (I'm an EMB guy that spent a year in the Beech.)

On topic, I'll vote yes if the result will be an honest-to-goodness contract that isn't fungible like the current "policy manual."

The new NMB rule is not fair

The rule change would mirror exactly how we elect our leaders in our national democracy. Is that also unfair?

Not showing up to vote one way or another is not representative of those who take an interest in things. Why should someone sitting on the couch eating potato chips count against something just because they didn't show up? Apathy is a problem here. That is verifiable. Did you vote in any our recent votes for anything or participate in the various surveys that have been sent out as of late? Honest question.

I dont think he meant its unfair to have a proper vote, more likely it is unfair that all the effort they spent to misinform the pilot group last time is going to work against them this time around.

We'd be happy to have you.

Clearly it takes being treated like , and having your QOL/Benefits eroded before some see the light.

I wish the best of luck to the OC this go around. Here's to convincing the naive.

I'm about to slap my roommate. Turns out he's Pat84106 times the 100th degree. OMG
Ask your roommate or any anti-union pilot two questions.
1) Do you(skywest pilots) need a union?(HIMS, FOQA, ASAP, P2P, etc)
2) Does management deserve a union?(Are they taking the same cuts as you.(Are they going to have a PPO))

This isn't a attack on your religion. Trust me. It's a thought that maybe theres phonies in every religion, that use its name, for their benefit. Kind of like how the crazy terrorists are using Islam as their reason behind their craziness.

Only a irrational person would buy into their way of thinking.
Dude, you have NO idea of the scope of shenanigans pulled in this state by people using their church affiliation to victimize others. Happens EVERY day.

1. Nah
2. Hell no:pirate:

First, the NMB hasn't changed the rule officially yet. They've issued a proposed change in the Federal Register, which is the first step, but they're holding closed-door hearings so interested parties can comment. It's still expected that the rule will change when it's all said and done, since President Obama has done a good job of putting pro-labor people in place on the NMB, but it isn't actually done yet.

Second, I don't see ALPA seeking out SkyWest pilots for another organizing drive just as a result of this rule change. It would take a highly-motivated group of SkyWest pilots to come to ALPA and make a convincing case that the vote would be a success. Lots of money was spent on the last drive, and we just don't have the money to spare right now on an unsuccessful and expensive campaign.
