Yeah, its lovely here in Ohio too. This morning started out beautiful, but its all gone downhill since 6pm. We've had winds gust over 50 kts. Severe thunderstorms, wind, hail, and a couple of tornados. Temp. is rapidly dropping, and they're now saying we could wake up to possibly five inches of snow. YUCK!!!!!!!!

Nah, not my new ride. I am flying a V35 (V-tail), but I couldn't find a cool pic of one in flight, so I snagged this one (a B36TC).
 
I really need to work on my TAF-reading skillz, seems like I've been spending all my time working on my Cat IIIc autoland profiles because, you know, that stuff will be important to know someday.

But if they're not too rusty, methinks I see some low-level windshear and gusts to 48 kts.

A300 Capt, how'd it go? I was just pulling in to work at my Nextel sales job and a Delta 767-400 made a go-around about a 1/2 mile out from 31 at LaGuardia.

Wasn't too bad getting in as the wind was just beginning to pick up but leaving was a little sporty. 25-30 kt gusty x-wind t/o and low level wind shear in the area made for a very rough ride climbing out. Looks like fun again tonight...I can hardly wait! Not!

I just got power back after 19 hours of no fun. Winds were gusting to about 50 knts here - some siding was ripped off the side of my apartment building. My mom said that they reported some gusts at 70+ mph on the other side of the state. Earlier in the day, before the winds picked up, I had trouble walking in a straight line at this one spot on campus. Needless to say, I wasn't too eager to try to go up in a 172.

I got into JFK last night on Jetblue 2 hours late. The thunderstorm that popped up in socal last night grounded the fuelers for 2 hours. But when we landed in JFK, it seemed very calm. Ahhhhh, gotta love that jetblue!
 
Did you fly into DSM yesterday? Ill bet that was a blast. When I called IKVs AWOS over the phone it was 300 @ 37 G45. It might have even gotten stronger than that at one point.
