Another BIG thanks to Jetblue.......

I guess a bunch of NWA A320 pilots blame B6 for there current rate (which was actually signed before Jetblue started flying) and have been denying them jump seats.

The current NWA rates date from 2004 ( http://news.minnesota.publicradio.org/features/2004/10/14_horwichj_nwapilots/ ) jetBlue began operations in 2001. Therefore, you are incorrect.

Well, there are a LOT of guys that rely on JetBlue to get to work and for 2 days Jetblue stopped taking any NWA guys. The word got out and a bunch of commuters took to educating their NWA 320 brethren about how stupid a jump seat war is.

At which point, the A320 guys should have 'educated' their cohorts about NOT asking favors of pilots who are undercutting their Union contract.

...how do you justify your pay cut?

I guess you need to do a little research on how binding arbitration works. Hopefully, the ability to resort to self-help the first time since the '80s will allow us to exercise a bit more power. Of course, the fact that there are pilots willing to fly similar equipment at Virgin ($95 an hour) and Skybus ($65 an hour) robs EVERY major airline pilot of credibilty at the bargaining table.

Extend professional courtesies to people who are actively impacting my paycheck to the tune of $47K a year? Not bloody likely...

Although actions may speak louder than words, actions can be misinterpreted since people generally have different persectives. Perhaps if things can be defined first then the corresponding actions will present a stronger message. In other words, actions with words are a much more powerful force than the two separate.

Personally, I have no problem with B6. I will ask this...unofficially, do folk still carry a black book with the list of names considered to be scabs?

For providing my rear end a seat to get to a meeting! You guys are a pleasure to jumpseat on!

You're very welcome. How 'bout we close this thread before it turns into the same ridiculous arguments the last one did.

That dead horse anin't coming back.

what in the world does cfiing have to do with this? The man's past that stage

Dude... we just did 13 pages of this. Let's not go back there.

Fins, well said. Even if you guys are err... "anti union scum" I can't say I've ever personally be undercut by you and apparently it is all about the individual so who cares huh?

So exactly how do you expect people to 'educate their cohorts' without using words; rather than denying jumpseats and passing up the opportunity to inform others?

Read the post for comprehension. The NWA guys should have stressed to their fellow NWA guys that it is not appropriate to ask for favors from people who are causing the erosion of your contract.

A jetblue CA was jumping on our flight, spend 15 years with US Air, furloughed several times, finally threw in the towel, went to jetblue and is happy as can be.

Velocipede does have a point, if someone is a scab they should not be allowed to work at ALPA (or any union company) EVER. That's how unions work. Of course, in a perfect world, ALPA would represent every scheduled carrier out there and we'd have one single contract for the entire industry, with payrates/workrules dictated.

LOUD NOISES!!!!!! AHHHHHH

I DONT KNOW WHAT WE ARE YELLING ABOUT!!!!!!!!

sorry....I love that movie, thought it was an appropriate moment for that.....carry on now..

How 'bout we close this thread before...

...MORE airline pilots realize that professional courtesies and Union negotiated jumpseat privileges should not be extended to non-Union pilots who undercut Union contract?

Isn't that what you really meant to say?

A little censorship goes a long way in keeping the light of truth from shining under your rock, doesn't it?

But the problem with that is you would cut off your nose to spite your face...like someone mentioned above, NWA guys used jetBlue to get to work...so stopping them from using the jumpseat on NWA aircraft hurts their pilots traveling to work on jetBlue. What's your solution for that? Just don't go to work, or move?

And those guys are the worst offenders...ALPA pilots who should know the effect that jetBlue, Virgin and Skybus type operations have on our contracts but go to work there anyway.

And they always say, "I had to feed my family." Exactly the same excuse scabs use when they cross picket lines. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck.

How did they get to work in 2000? There are plenty of options for commuting besides jetBlue. If, for some reason, there was a Union boycott of jetBlue, how would they get to work?

blah blah blah

How's your blood pressure? At the rate you're going, you're going to be out of a medical soon...just looking out for you.

BTW, I work at a non-union shop...as a matter of fact, I've never worked at a union shop. Let's see that BP now!!!:panic::D

One of my examiners in Vegas said the same thing. If it came to feeding his family he said he would physically cross the picket line and throw down with anyone who gets pissed...I had no comment
