Announcement Ending 05/02

You'll get yours too... I'm just curious as to where they're sending you to take it

manilei, it looks like you will probably test in Oakland, according to the locations who have not been contacted yet.[/quote]

I HOPE SO!! Because that would be the shortest flight.. with ticket prices nowadays... I was hoping for California too, my best friend lives up there and would be able to pick me up and stuff like that.. works out easier!

You are absolutely correct! with the adrenaline that is rushing through me whenever I am on this site... I end up typing SUPER fast because I just want to schedule my test date already. Answer to your question: I know it may seem a little weird but I have hired and fired people old enough to be my parents... and older.. But see it was not weird for them because I don't look my age. I carry myself older and unless I tell you how old I am all my co-workers assumed another 3-6 years higher. I was also just talking to my brother about this... If I get this job, and start now... I would be able to retire before 40 years old! Not sure how much older you are but probably still a really decent retirement age.. not that im planning on retiring early.. just the thought.:rawk:

I know precisely what you're talking about. I'm turning a bit neurotic on here, with all of the checking.

In terms of retiring -- I'm 19 now, but depending how fast this process progresses, I could possibly be 20 by the time I would be placed on location, if say, I do get offered the job. So many 'ifs'. Regardless, that's not so bad for a starting point...

I have yet to hear anything from Ft. Lauderdale about my testing information. I'm getting a little annoyed here. "Woo-Sah!!"

Haven't recieved any emails yet concerning my testing information so I called up Robert "Bob" Oborsky in Robinson Aviation and he states for applicants in my area, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. that testing will be held July 11- July 18 in Dania, FL and my name is on the list and to expect to be emailed the information the last week or two of June. I told him I can be anyplace at anytime to take the test earlier than what I am scheduled, and he stated all Florida applicants must be tested in the same state they reside in.

Hope this information helps anyone that's in the same situation!

I don't think it would help you to travel to another city to take the test a week or so early.

Typically in mass hiring announcements like this they want for all the nationwide testing to complete, and then move forward in the process. You won't get left behind... :)

They didn't do anything at all with the 2/15 announcement until ALL of the AT-SAT's were done. Only then did they do the geo pref emails. So there's no hurry.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that. He said ALL scores for this announcement will be fowarded to the FAA on Jul 18, which happens to be the last day of testing for Dania, Florida. So it seems that those of us who are taking the test earlier than some of us, that the results will be fowarded the same time!

That's different. My results were sent in the next day from Seattle. I know because I got the results in ASAP a few days later.

Still waiting on test date email:banghead:. I will feel much better once i can schedule my test. This seems like it is taking forever, but then i remind myself, that the people going to Oklahoma City now have been in the process for around a year. :drool::drool:

Keep an eye out on snail mail. I never did get an email regaurding the test date. I got a letter from the contractor a day before I needed to reserve my slot for the testing day. It was very nerve racking. I only had 12 days to schedule a flight and get a hotel room lined up. Hope you hear soon.

does anyone know if there is a deadline for all applicants to set their AT-SAT test date? or is it all separate for location..? Just wondering because I believe I am going to end up testing in California but never received anything yet. no email. no letter. no call. Just trying to find a way to freak out because im so anxious!!!!:rawk:

Each location has their own deadline depending on when the testing dates are. It doesn't seem that the email went out for Oakland, CA, which is probably where you'll be testing. If you read pdorian's post, you'll see that they're still planning on contacting people towards the end of June, so you may still be waiting another week or two.

Maybe you'll just end up taking your AT-SAT in Hawaii like I did instead of them sending you to California.

So, now that we've made it to the AT-SAT, I'm starting to think about the rest of the process, and all the waiting ahead. As far as I understand it, the process goes like this:

1. Apply OTS and waited 1.5 months;
2. Notified of AT-SAT and waited a few weeks;
3. Schedule AT-SAT and wait 3-5 weeks;
4. Take AT-SAT, get score, and wait ? months;
5. Submit geographic preferences and wait ? months;
6. Inclusion (or not) on referral list, and wait ? months;
7. Notification of committee's decision (?) and wait ? months;
8. Pre-Employment Processing Center (interview, medical, psych, drug, paperwork) and schedule academy start, and wait ? months;
9. Begin at Academy and train for 12-15 weeks;
10. Start at permanent assignment.

Can anyone else improve this? Do we have an idea how long each of the waiting periods are. I know the 7/2007 cohort had grizzly waiting periods, but it seems like the 2/15 cohort and we are moving faster.

Hi,

I am just dropping in as a new arrival. Like many of you I also applied to the 05/02 OTS. I live in SC and I guess most likely will be heading to the ATL At-SAT. I also have not gotten an e-mail notice to schedule the test.
I was happy to run accross this forum as it gives a lot of info on what lies ahead. I am curious and worried whether or not I will make it anywhere before I cross the magical disqualifying age of 31 in 9 months.
Will see what happens. To the rest of you the best of luck and maybe I will meet a few of you guys during the test.:)

Welcome mikeswise... good to see another 5/2er here. Look around, read up on things, basically make yourself at home since it seems like we'll be stuck living vicariously through others' stories for a bit longer.

Also, don't worry about hitting the magic age yet... there are a few people here who are closer to it than you are. I say keep applying to the announcements and hope for the best. :)
