The only reason ABQ is staffed is because that's really the only major piston base left. Everywhere else is all turbine so those will be more revolving doors.
PHX and PDX both still have a sizable PA-31 presence, but ABQ is the largest base for it.

I didn't think the other bases had a bunch. Interesting.
In fact, PHX is supposedly in major need of PA-31 guys. The two that were in my class didn't pass training and there's only one in this last class out of 5(?) that are going there, so I wouldn't be suprised if one of us has to TDY there for a bit if they're really as short as I've heard.

199 Disaster Strikes... There is a special place in hell for that POS. There was one that was almost worse than DS but I can't remember..

I parked one of the most hated Hoes back in 2011 when they were mercifully retiring them from the fleet.

N199DS... I can still smell the avgas fumes in the cockpit...

I thought people liked the "airshow" smoke the thing put out on every takeoff and landing. Who knew?

Wonder if that's the bird that the cockpit window wouldn't latch and when I called dispatch to say we can't fly they were like TS. No rental cars available and they weren't going to spring for a hotel.

Haha, classic AMF. The last captain I flew with was another AMF survivor. We spent many hours talking poop about the old shop and one Ken • in particular.

One of the greatest moments of my AMF career was right at the end when my airplane broke in EKA and Ken told me that I could just spend the night in the crew apartment. I told him that I absolutely would not and that he could expect a hotel receipt from me the next day. He promptly hung up on me like the petty, classless and awful human that he was. Fortunately, the ACP was cool and gave me approval.

I just get a warm feeling in my soul every time I think of how upset Ken was with a $100 hotel bill. Mind you, this is the same psychopath that suggested I try to get the deposit back when we shut down the ancient Yreka meth apartment.
