Right on. So here's the question: which station has the longest runs / most flight time?

Out of the junior bases that you listed, DFW probably averages the highest flight time. Most people are doing 50-65 hours per month at the outstations here. SLC has some pretty long runs as well but they are all in-station which makes the base pretty senior. Their have been a few new hires sent straight there for a 99 lately though so you might be able to pull it off.

I would have figured DFW flight times would be short now since LBB is much closer to the airports that AMF serves.

Hey folks! I'm a CFI in BHM currently and have been talking to Sheri over at AMF. She said 99 slots are open in SAT, DFW, OMA, and BUF. I'm pretty much set on AMF since a bunch if my flight school buddies are there and love it. Any advise on bases, standardization, etc? Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

Although she didn't list SLC, I was based there for a while and enjoyed my time. The runs are cool, some with 4+ hours flying, plus the base has Metros and Hundos. COL isn't too bad in the area either. One of our resident JCers @JayAre is there. See if you can get that out of training. Freight isn't a bad way to go and don't toss out the idea of Air Ambo after some freight. Good experience too.

Each of the runs out of LBB block 3-3.5 per day and I have done a few 7-8 hour block days as LBB reserve.
Interesting. Figured they would be way shorter since LBB is close to the outstations I know of. That said, they may have changed.

This is all great info! What's the upgrade time like from 99 to SA227 or BE1900? I'd love to go to Puerto Rico after my first year or so!

It seems that most people are upgrading in 4-6 months but it might take a few more months to get to PR. Getting there within a year would be very do-able I think.

I'll be leaving next month, hopefully. ;) The rest of the BQN guys will probably be here awhile though.

LBB still goes to Dallas at night. During the day, the other run goes to Midland and Alpine. 3-3.5 hours on both. Unless that's changed.

They have yellow wheels. :)

I'll be more specific if I get it
