Ameriflight hiring?

My indoc roomate was also in his 50's when he was hired.

And some AMF'ers have also gone on to the "big leagues" also. I wouldn't necessarily say that their bowing to our "freight greatness"( I wouldn't expect then to), but it does happen.

WOW!! I'm in shock! There must have been a radical make-over in AMF Management! (like firing Stu Schrock!) Either that or they're desperate for pilots! I am, however, happy to see/hear of some changes over there, they were desperatley needed!

I've been at AMF since 2006 and have no idea who that guy is! AMF is and will always be AMF.:)

Pardon me if this question has already been answered but does AMF let you choose the base to fly out of or do they place you where they need you? Personally, PDX would be nice. Thanks!

When they're hiring, you can choose any base thats advertising the need for pilots.

The AMF you and me know is a kinder, gentler AMF now that Stu is gone.

I flew with a captain at Express that got fired by Stu when he was at Amflight...twice! He got fired from Amflight to cut costs, then went to another freight company. A few months later, that freight company is bought by AMF and he gets fired again!

With the caveat that some bases (SLC) are turbine-only bases and you must have sufficient seniority to bid the 99, at least. (That's my understanding, anyway.)

Seniority means jack at Amflight. If they can't fill the position, and you can be insured, you're in.

Ok, but when was the last time you saw someone hired straight into the 99? (No Chieftains at SLC.) And when was the last time they couldn't fill a 99 position from within?

Saw one or two at PHX back in the day.

Last class there was a direct entry into the 99 and 1900 and four into the metro. I've been here only a few months but one thing I know, there are no absolutes when it comes to Amflight.

It says they are hiring, but they already have a large hiring pool apparently and they are not accepting any more resumes or applications right now. I had a friend that just went through their training, said i just missed the door! DANG!

My old CFI got hired into the 99 here in PHX about a year and a half ago, upgraded to the Metro about 4 or 5 months ago...

AMF is definitely where I'm looking since I have an internal ref. You get really good with a 6 pack really quick, 2 VOR's and a DME are pretty much all you have according to him (in the 99) And I guess here in PHX at least you get pretty good at holds in the 99, as PHX controllers won't give them the time of day to get in when it's busy with the big boys.

I'd like to stay here in PHX, anyone know if it's possible to commute to SOCAL if that's all they have open? (Schedule Wise) (I know AMF is CASS)
