My indoc roomate was also in his 50's when he was hired.
And some AMF'ers have also gone on to the "big leagues" also. I wouldn't necessarily say that their bowing to our "freight greatness"( I wouldn't expect then to), but it does happen.
WOW!! I'm in shock! There must have been a radical make-over in AMF Management! (like firing Stu Schrock!) Either that or they're desperate for pilots! I am, however, happy to see/hear of some changes over there, they were desperatley needed!
Pardon me if this question has already been answered but does AMF let you choose the base to fly out of or do they place you where they need you? Personally, PDX would be nice. Thanks!
I've been at AMF since 2006 and have no idea who that guy is! AMF is and will always be AMF.![]()
With the caveat that some bases (SLC) are turbine-only bases and you must have sufficient seniority to bid the 99, at least. (That's my understanding, anyway.)When they're hiring, you can choose any base thats advertising the need for pilots.

good point. I didnt think about that. Where are the navajos based? Please say pdx. :d
Ok, but when was the last time you saw someone hired straight into the 99? (No Chieftains at SLC.) And when was the last time they couldn't fill a 99 position from within?Seniority means jack at Amflight. If they can't fill the position, and you can be insured, you're in.

I've been here only a few months but one thing I know, there are no absolutes when it comes to Amflight.
I'd like to stay here in PHX, anyone know if it's possible to commute to SOCAL if that's all they have open? (Schedule Wise) (I know AMF is CASS)
