Ameriflight, Cheiftan, BE99, and SA227 Captains....

Another question...do they still give out training contacts if you go in already with the type?

If someone would start out in the PA31, how long would it take to get the BE99, assuming you are willing to be based anywhere? Also, did they always have a 1 year contract?

Sylvia's the person you need to talk with. Keep trying, you'll eventually get through to her.

Who knows what upgrade is to the 99. When I was there they were hiring off the street into it, now it's probably 6-12 months (complete guess) if you were willing to take an out station nobody wanted.

There has been a 1 year commitment to the company since around 2006, and there is also a 6 month training contract on the 99, 12 month on the 1900/Metro.

You thinking about coming back to the states? Come visit us in PHX. Probably only be here till march. PHX is pretty much all dried up in terms of jobs.

I tried about 5 times but I can't ever get Sylvia on the phone. Is there someone else to contact?

I just got off the phone with Sylvia, she said that "the companies needs have changed" and "no classes until March 9th, and she doesn't know what aircraft it will be for"....

LOL. That's all I've got to say...

Never heard that from any company. "Yes, we are hiring 300 people..... Oh, wait, our company needs have changed, all interviews/classes canceled until further notice.

I could imagine the current situation with the auto industry probably isn't helping, from what I understand, a lot of these companies fly autoparts...

Oh no. AMF is not in that business anymore. Even when they were, it only made up a very very very small amount of the company's business. Now it's a small amount of bank work and a LOT of feeder stuff for UPS DHL and FedEx which has always been their bread and butter. I would tell all how I really feel, but I'll just keep it to myself for now.

I have know idea what they want right now the latest memo says there are openings in ILN, CVG, and the UPS hub SDF? for the metro, three Bro FO's where ever they fly.

What's up Logs? You heading back to the states soon?? Job market sucks out here though. Ameriflight would work out pretty good for you probably. I'm still in Phoenix.....lame.

I am not positive, but I think the Bro FO bases are CVG, Dallas area somewhere, and Puerto Rico. They just filled the CVG with a new hire. I think the Dallas FO will be there for a while. So, the next Bro FO position will be in Puerto Rico. If you get hired there, consider yourself staying there. They rarely move anyone from there because they have a difficult time filling the position. I think the position is the middle of nowhere Puerto Rico, not even a big city. But I think it is on a beach so it might be fun if you are single and like the beach.

As far as the Metro, I have never heard them hiring a street captain in the Metro. That doesn't mean it never happens, but I don't think it would be common. They would give others the opportunity in the company first. If no one takes it, you can assume the base is in BFE, by a nuclear waste dump or something awful that no one wants to live there.

I don't fly for AMF but have a lot of friends that do and keep me in the loop. Some love it, others are indifferent. It used to be a great place to work but there has been a lot of changes in managment that has really pissed off a lot of their pilots.
