American Pilots Hate New Uniform

Same same.

THANKS OBAMA!

But I hate the leather coats. I own several leather coats, but not in the style that are normally worn by airline pilots.
Don't tell your fellow co-workers. The AA leather coat option with the new uniform is a great coat for overnights, it's not piloty at all and can easily be worn around town. However, the blowback from the pilot group here was astronomical in that they wanted a "bomber style" jacket with epaulets on it.

Sometimes I think letting a pilot select anything semi-fashion related is like asking for problems.

I have coworkers that still want a black NorthFace zip-up because, and I quote, "I'm not paid to look professional" — uhh, actually...

Those are for chief pilots.

If anything the sexual predator overcoat needs to go. I seriously think the only people wearing these are people that are stuck in the 50s or are pilots.
I'm definitely the exception here. I think the overcoat/hat combo looks pretty sharp. provided it's actually buttoned up and belted properly. Almost everyone wears it open flapping in the wind like batman's cape...usually it's all wrinkled and disheveled as well. It just looks sloppy.

Or people that are cold. You know, spend a winter in Detroit! :)

Actually, I don't carry the overcoat because I bought the thicker, more plush horsecoat, not the theatrical costume that's el cheapo.

Any word If the hat is required? If so year round or just while wearing coats?

Neither side has hats now, so I'm sure they will make us wear them :/

Which is exactly why it is a bad idea to have it as a uniform standard.

They need to upgrade it to a more modern version.

Which coat is that? I still have to go get fitted for mine!
