No, we won't, and no, they won't. Shut up, troll.
Unfortunately, recent history and the current regional model is not on your side.

No they don't. No regional pilot group has any other regional pilot group's back. It's all a backstabbing industry amongst the regionals. The concession man came knocking at Pinnacle and it passed. PSA and it passed. Eagle will pass it. If they don't, they'll be gone. The flying will go to the carriers who can do it cheapest. The choice to make now is either accept concessions and take the new planes they are offering or turn down their offer and watch your airline get parked. Given that choice, pilots will turn into self-preservation mode.
Bingo. Although I would have never considered pinnacle as their upgrade time was a lot longer than Colgan in 2008.Yes, really. I think his posts here in bad taste considering what he is saying versus what he did himself. The bottom line is historically speaking and always true, the regionals with the bottom pay provide the best and fastest career advancement, especially the coveted TPIC time. I never heard a Colgan or Great Lakes guy ever complain about a lack of TPIC. They got it pretty quick. As a result, they were able to bail out a lot sooner to bigger/better things than those who choose to go to the "better" regionals. I remember that topic as well here back in 2006/7. Guys were bypassing Pinnacle and Colgan types for the likes of ExpressJet. The bottom line is guys who went to those lower paying regionals got their time and moved onto LCCs/Legacies, whereas those same ExpressJet guys are just finally starting to upgrade today after 7 years.

CC does have a point. Another way of putting it might be "virtue is it's own reward."
Well if you want to play this game and think my posts are in bad taste, let me remind you of a few things.
When you were hired in 2007 at PCL they already owned Colgan. If you were sooooooooo concerned with getting the quick TPIC time and you are sooooooo smart, then you could have come to Colgan instead. But you didn't and now are blaming others who were at Colgan BEFORE the purchase was even announced.
When the merger occurred, I didn't sit on the sidelines, I joined the ALPA Organizing Committee to try to build unity, and prevent a whipsaw to help protect my fellow pilots at Pinnacle. If you were so concerned about making sure you were protected, you sure as hell didn't show it. I didn't see you at any organizing events in 2007 or 2008 volunteering on your days off to make sure the bar is raised and your upgrade was protected.
Finally, you are also being hypocritical saying, "bottom line is guys who went to lower paying regionals and got their time moved on", you didn't have any TPIC when you moved on, you were boasting on the internal board that if you can move on others can do it, so what is your point? Or do you not have one (again)?
People have certainly managed to move on without any TPIC, and the reasons why are outside the scope of this conversation. If I remember correctly CC is at VA and got hired out of the blue, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.Huh?
On one side he is bitching about Colgan guys getting their quick TPIC time and moving on, yet I know plenty who have a lot that can't get a call. Yet he was able to move on without any TPIC. So what is it?

But by and large having the TPIC box checked is a better way to get your résumé to stand out. It would be interesting to see a comparison of how many guys with and without TPIC have gotten hired at various places.
Uhhhh, it's a poker game. I wouldn't be so sure they are out of other places to go.

I've got 1000MTPIC, and I don't have any Major/LCC's beating down my door. In fact I'm still waiting for the magic that number is supposed to bring to my career. Honestly I don't think it means anything.
It does and it doesn't. If the majors/lccs use it as a screener then you won't get a call until you have it because no human ever sees your application to check out your requirements. As far as what happens AFTER you get the 1000 (or whatever the magic screening number is)... who knows. That's up the the black magic of HR departments everywhere.
As far as how CC may have escaped to VX with so little time... At the time he was hired they were actually running out of applicants (who qualified with total time) because so many people failed their personality screening test they gave before inviting you to an interview. I failed it the first time I took it and was frozen out for a year. I sat next to the base CP several times commuting to work and back during that year and every time he commented on how few qualified applicants they were getting in to interviews. Right around then they lowered either the total time or PIC time requirement and then eventually dropped the PIC time requirement. After my year freeze I reapplied, retested and then finally interviewed and had about the highest times in my interview group and certainly the most PIC, which felt very strange considering I only about 3000 of TPIC at that point.
I was in IOE December 2007 then got Christmas week off. My first reserve month and therefore the first month officially on the line was Jan 2008. And I believe it was due to misinformation but I was under the impression I couldn't help in any way until off probation which was 1 year.
By the time Jan 2009 rolled around things had already rolled downhill (recession and Colgan Qs). While you may have helped to "protect" 9E and help in unity, I can assure you a guy whose name is somewhat close to Ketchup did the exact opposite with the merger committee and trying to screw them out of 1.5-2 months seniority by fighting for the sim DOH instead of the industry standard class DOH. You'll have to excuse me if I wasn't so lovey/feely with 9L.
My point is your posts come off from what others are perceiving as a much higher horse than where you should be. Congrats for where you got but your tone sounds condescending to the others below you. At least my anger is directed at where it belonged: 9L and XJ.![]()
Soooo... did you get an offer of employment after that?
