American Airlines may cut up to 15,000 jobs

From what I am hearing over half the job cuts are going to hit MX (TUL/AFW). I for one am not happy about seeing MX move overseas.

Unfortunately, accountants love it. Operationally, it's a pain in the ass.

Shareholders love it. Real Americans should be angry.

Yep. Sending aircraft overseas for MX when nobody on the line speaks or reads English and all the MX manuals are written in English is a GREAT idea.

I think early outs and voluntary furloughs should cover most if not all of this.

I don't know what to say about losing this many jobs. If these numbers are right guys with 20+ years could be looking to hit the streets.

RE: mx outsourcing. It's scary. It will probably take a major maintenance error related crash for the FAA to crack down on it though.

Are the 400 pilots from Eagle and AA combined?
