As ATN pointed out, Allegiant isn't in ALPA so your logic is kind of... weak.

Once a carrier is in ALPA they are mostly treated by National the way the local MEC wants to be treated. Also, the smaller carriers are heavily subsidized by the bigger ones. I know for every dollar we pony up in dues we get something like $3 back. Thanks Delta and ConUnited!

I think he's referring to their being turned down for membership.

They were buying Skywest sandwiches from that place on Concourse B that starts with a P.. P-something bakery too. I want to say like Pandora bakery but that doesn't sound right.
 
So why did ALPA give them a negative response? If the idea for being efficient and unified in the industry is to work under one pilot union to the max extent possible, it stands to reason that ALPA would've wanted the chance to be on property...one would think?

That's exactly what I was talking about.

I don't understand why ALPA would expend resources on a group that clearly doesn't want to be affiliated with them (i.e. Skywest), while it turns away groups that ARE interested. Apparently some airlines are more worthy than others.

First, we haven't had an organizing drive at Skywest in something like 7 years. It's been so long since I worked it that I can't even remember the exact year. And when we were working on that drive, it was their pilots who came to us requesting help in organizing under ALPA. ALPA has never sought to organize anyone that didn't come to us first.

Second, Duck is right. No one is getting an organizing drive with ALPA right now. Not the big carriers, not the little carriers. Everyone treated the same. So your argument still holds no water. Again, as usual.
